Community Organizer

Scott Roberts

The community organizer for N&N Adventuring Company and Dark Earth, Scott has been playing and running D&D and other roleplaying games since 1980. Taking a player-centered approach to storytelling, he focuses on cinematic storytelling mixed with a dedication to background detail and story flow that brings the setting to life without overwhelming the PCs with undesired detail. Expect environmental challenges, a dash of humor, a generous helping of action and a strong drive towards helping characters bring out their most heroic selves through moral struggles and above all, Viking excitement! In previous seasons, Scott ran Egypt’s mysteries via such tales as Crocodilopolis and a dungeon crawl featuring Set and training a special forces unit culminating in a battle atop the Sphinx and within the Great Pyramid of Giza, and a battle against the minions of the Gorilla Drogg in the jungles of New Guinea in Season 2 which sadly never finished—but Season 3 is another story entirely!

Bill Morgenthien

A senior DM for the Dark Earth project, Bill first sat down to a D&D table in 1980 at Camp Arrowhead in Totowa. Since then there has hardly been a year where he has not written, run, or played in an RPG campaign across every system imaginable, many no longer in print. Having written and run modules for multiple systems, including many years in organized play settings (Living City, Living Greyhawk, Living Force, Living Forgotten Realms, and Pathfinder Society) he brings a set of skills at creating woven episodic content. Players at his tables always know that whatever plot threads they wish to pull at only appear at the end of layers of submerged detail, written just in case they decide to take a look.

Prior seasons of his signature Roman Empire depicted a region where Hades bet his triumph over Zeus on the belief that the Chosen would always prevail at the challenges he set before them. Only in the end did they understand that in victory lay defeat. In season two, the repercussions of that defeat reshaped the Pantheon, finally assuming the Roman Names with Pluto now king of Olympus. However, rather than an oppressive Empire of Death, they were shown a vast region at war with ancient fell powers attempting to rip the very continent into another dimension. Only the loyal Chosen of Rome, some of the most powerful wizards of Dark Earth, were able to stem the tide of Daemons and push back the legions of their pawns. Such divine power comes at a cost, for as Season three dawns, the Chosen themselves must decide whether they are friend or foe to the peoples of Rome.

Peter Simone

Peter Simone is an associate DM in Dark Earth and is the youngest player there. At age 11, Peter first learned to play thanks to the amazing community at Dexcon, but they didn’t teach him enough. Because when he joined Dark Earth last year, he had only scratched the surface of an amazing universe and game. Now Peter will take one step further as an associate dungeon master for Dark Earth Season 3.

Peter’s take on Norway and Hollow Earth will be fun, taking inspiration from such things as the Mole Man from the Fantastic Four books and Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne. One thing you should know is that the actions of season 2 will impact the affects of the modules Peter has to come.
